As a Carte Wealth Management Inc. (“Carte”) representative I am dually occupied as a Certified Financial Planner (“CFP”) registered as a mutual funds salesperson, an Insurance Advisor, a Director/Owner of a company and a self-employed tax preparer/filer and represent separate companies for each purpose. As such, you may be dealing with more than one company depending on the products purchased, or services rendered. Remuneration also varies with the products purchased, or services rendered. I will be representing Carte for the sale of mutual fund products and will provide you with the name of the entity that I represent while conducting business as an Insurance Advisor, Director/Owner of a company and a tax preparer/filer. The sale of life insurance products & services, the business activities of the company for which I am a Director/Owner and tax preparations and filings, are not the business of, or under the supervision of Carte, and Carte will not be liable or responsible for such activities.
I, Pasquale Pugliese, am a Certified Financial Planner registered as a mutual fund salesperson represented by Carte.
- I am also an independent Life Insurance Advisor under contract with Carte Financial Services Inc., Carte Risk Management Inc., Qualified Financial Services Inc. and HUB Financial Inc., insurance MGAs. Any activity relating to my occupation as an Insurance Advisor is not the business of, or under the supervision of, Carte, and Carte will not be liable or responsible for such activities.
- I am also a Director/Owner of a company, Pasquale Pugliese Corporation, a company through which I place life insurance business, a company to which my mutual fund commissions are paid and whose name I use as a trade name when conducting mutual fund related business. Any activity relating to my occupation as a Director/Owner is not the business of, or under the supervision of, Carte, and Carte will not be liable or responsible for such activities.
- I am also a self-employed individual providing tax preparations and filings to clients. Any activity relating to my tax preparations and filings is not the business of, or under the supervision of, Carte, and Carte will not be liable or responsible for such activities.
- I, Pasquale Pugliese, wish this distinction to be clear, and if you are not sure of the difference, let us discuss it, or I can suggest sources from which you can obtain the necessary explanation. Our self-regulatory organization, The Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada (“MFDA”), has rules which state that the distinction between these Dual Occupations must be clear and that you understand the difference for the purposes of this transaction.

Subject to any applicable death and maturity guarantee, any part of the premium or other amount that is allocated to a segregated fund is invested at the risk of the contract holder and may increase or decrease in value according to fluctuations in the market value of the assets in the segregated fund. A nominee account is one in which an investment is held in trust for an individual by a corporation or entity other than the individual. A segregated fund policy held within a self-directed plan is one example of investing in a nominee account. A segregated fund held in a nominee account may not offer creditor protection.
